The student’s overall learning objectives include acquisition of the following skills:

  • Collecting data for a medical history.
  • Performing physical examinations.
  • Documenting and reporting the history and physical.
  • Interpreting basic laboratory tests.
  • Providing patient education.
  • Observing the breadth and depth of a community-based office practice.
  • Developing a working knowledge of staff procedures and policies.
