Resume Samples & Interview Tips for Masters of Public Health

Public Health offers a variety of careers for everyone. From epidemiology, biostatistics and environmental health, to health education, health policy, and health administration. Mercer MPH graduates find themselves all over the globe. They are helping eliminate polio. They are working in mental health clinics. They are running important clinical trials in Atlanta. They are evaluating nutrition programs in Central America. They are developing health policy in Washington DC. They are making a difference in the developing world. Our alumni choose lives of service through jobs that concentrate on the public's health.

Because what our graduates do is so important, our work is not finished on graduation day. We believe our alumni to be great people capable of achieving
immense things. We support them every way we can through career services and employment connections.

Resume Tips from the Mercer University Community Advisory Board:

  • Spelling & grammar are key. Proof read your resume.
  • If you are just out of school, and don't have a lot of work experience in the field, add a skill set or include unpaid positions or life experience (IE Mission Trip). The information on your resume should be relevant to the position you are applying for.
  • Only include non-relevant work experience (IE a job at the local pizza shop) if you don't have any public health experience, and want to show your ability to hold down a job for a long period of time. Include skills that may be relevant such as personable skills, customer service, etc.
