In Memorium – Stanley T. Peskoe, M.D. |
11/04/2009 - Stan Peskoe, M.D., Associate Professor of Medicine/Nephrology, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, following a brief illness. Dr. Peskoe joined the volunteer faculty of the School of Medicine in 1981 and was appointed to the full-time faculty in October 1985 as an assistant professor. He was promoted to associate professor in July, 1990, and served as chief of the nephrology division. Dr. Peskoe was actively involved in the education of medical students and residents, serving as an ward attending physician for the Internal Medicine Residency and as an attending for the nephrology service. He also participated in the department’s clinical trials program and maintained a private practice through Mercer Medicine. He was active in both tutoring and participating in the clinical skills program at MUSM and served on a variety of hospital committees for both MCCG and Coliseum. His evaluations by residents and students reflected his love of teaching with comments such as “great teacher”, “excellent attending”, “fantastic”, and “inspires thirst for knowledge.” |
