CLERKSHIP
MACON CAMPUS

Mercer University School of Medicine

We would like to welcome you for your third year Family Medicine Clerkship. The Macon Family Medicine Residency and MUSM offer you a unique experience in completing your rotation on the main campus.

The Family Health Center is the clinic setting for the FP Residency. Established in 1990, it offers a mccg_2004.jpglarge complex of well-equipped procedure rooms for endoscopy, colposcopy, and minor surgical procedures as well as a cardiovascular lab. The environment is focused on personal patient care and learning for the residents and students. We see approximately 100 patients every day, which provides the student the diverse breadth of the specialty of Family Medicine. You will have the opportunity to be integrated into this experience with the guidance of our diverse faculty and residents.  Click here to view the Faculty Profiles. You will complete your in-service experience with the team at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Please explore our residency website noted below.

It is the goal of the Department of Family Medicine at Mercer University to ensure that each medical student receive an experience that will enhance their knowledge and skill in medicine, yet more importantly realize the special relationship that exists between a physician and his/her patient.  Medical students are taught that the needs and desires of a patient are preeminent in caring for them.  Patient care does not always mean giving the newest drug or providing the most recent high tech diagnostic test.  Family Physicians realize that providing patient care means providing what is best for the patient, a decision that is usually made with the patient and/or the family.
