The eResources Trials Center offers MUSM faculty, staff & students the opportunity to test and evaluate new electronic resources to help determine their usefulness in helping meet MUSM educational objectives. Whenever a trial of a new product is available, information about it will appear on this page.

ScienceDirect - Trial Available Thru Nov. 30, 2008
Trial coverage provides access to ScienceDirect's " Freedom Collection." This package contains over a thousand journals. To access the journal included in the Freedom Collection follow these steps. Once you are at the site, click "Browse" in the top menu bar. You will see a box in the left hand column. Uncheck "Non-subscribed" and "All Books" Then check "Apply" You will have access to anything with a green box in front of it. ACCESS: On campus or off campus with username/password.
Thieme ElectronicBook Library - Trial Available Thru Dec. 15, 2008
Trial includes 43 titles from the Flexibook Atlases and Textbooks Series, a series of popular and highly respected review textbooks, published in both the basic as well as the medical sciences. ACCESS: On campus or off campus with username/password.

Books@OVID -NOW AVAILABLE-
Access full-text textbooks via the OVID platform. OVID books include page numbers that coincide with the print editions. OVID also allows for easy navigation of the books sections and chapters and keyword searching within multiple books. ACCESS: On campus or off campus with username/password.
AccessMedicine -NOW AVAILABLE-
AccessMedicine includes approximately 53 full-text textbooks in clinical and educational medicine. Also available from AccessMedicine: drug information, practice guidelines, quick access to diagnosis and treatment of 800 disorders, diagnostic tests, customizable patient education materials, and health news channels. Image, video, and audio content are available as well. ACCESS: On campus or off campus with username/password.
DynaMed -NOW AVAILABLE-
Description: DynaMed is a clinical reference tool created by physicians for physicians and other health care professionals for use primarily at the 'point-of-care'. With clinically-organized summaries for nearly 2,000 topics, DynaMed is an evidence-based reference shown to answer most clinical questions during practice. DynaMed is updated daily and monitors the content of over 500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases directly and indirectly by using many journal review services. A PDA version is also available for Palm or Windows Mobile. Please note that DynaMed is similar to the popular program UptoDate, but is updated daily and is more affordable for library and group subscriptions.
RefWorks -NOW AVAILABLE-
Description: With RefWorks researchers can create their personal reference databases by importing references from online databases or entering data. They can use these references in writing their papers and automatically format the paper and the bibliography. As a web-based product, RefWorks is available to users across various platforms including Windows, Mac, Unix, etc.
PIER: The Physicians' Information and Education Resource -NOW AVAILABLE- (via GaIN)
Description: PIER is a clinical decision support resource from the American College of Physicians offering authoritative, evidence-based guidance to improve clinical care.
Images.MD -NOW AVAILABLE-
Description (from the vendor): images.MD compiles over 40,000 high-quality images spanning all of internal medicine, all derived from Current Medicine’s series of illustrated atlases. Each image is accompanied by detailed text written by over 2,000 contributing experts.
