About GaIN

The Mercer Medical Library and LRC serves as the hub for GaIN (Georgia Interactive Network for Medical Information). GaIN provides information services and resources to hospitals and healthcare institutions across Georgia. Many of the Library's electronic resources are accessed through GaIN at
http://gain.mercer.edu. Some of the most popular resources in GaIN are described here.

GaIN Username and Password

GaIN access is FREE to MUSM students, faculty, and staff, but requires a personalized username and password.

  • Students will use their email username (e.g. smith_ab) and password to access GaIN.
  • Faculty and staff should complete the brief membership form at http://gainweb.mercer.edu/GaINmembershipapp.pdf and return it to the Medical Library to obtain a personalized GaIN username and password. Forgotten your password? Contact the Medical Library for help.

GaIN Users Can:

  • Access full-text journals, patient care handouts, drug information, and news by specialty area via MD Consult;
  • Find evidence-based medicine resources in PIER (Physicians’ Information and Education Resource) from the American College of Physicians;
