NOTICE: WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specific in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be used “for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of fair use, that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This library reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violations of copyright law.

For articles and chapters of books that the Mercer Medical Library owns:

• MUSM faculty and staff with prior approval from their department: 10 ¢ per page billed to their department or program
• MUSM  faculty and staff without prior approval from their department or program: 10 ¢ per page billed directly to the patron
• MUSM medical students: 10 ¢ per page included in tuition costs
• MUSM MPH, MFT, & MSA students: 10 ¢ per page billed directly to the patron

For articles and books that the Mercer Medical Library does not own and ordered through Interlibrary Loan:

• MUSM faculty and staff with prior approval from their department or program : $3.00/item billed to their department or program
• MUSM faculty and staff without prior approval from their department or program: $3.00/item billed directly to the patron
• MUSM medical students: $3.00/item included in tuition costs
• MUSM MPH, MFT, & MSA students: $3.00/item  billed directly to the patron
