Radiation Safety

 General Requirements

  1. All faculty/staff/students conducting work in the School of Medicine laboratories are required to receive training on Radiation Safety.
  2. All individuals conducting work in lab areas containing radioactive materials are required to wear personal dosimeters. 
  3. All P.I.s interested in using ionizing radiation in their research are required to submit an application for approval by the Institutional Radiation Safety Committee.  Contact Alan Baca (478) 301-2544 for more information.
  4. All radioactive materials and waste are to be used, stored, or disposed according to the MU Radiation Safety Manual.
