Research Laboratory Safety

 General Requirements

  1. Wear appropriate lab attire (no open-toed shoes, tie hair back, wear lab coat and any other special personal protective equipment, such as gloves and goggles as necessary).

     
  2. School of Medicine laboratory personnel are required to wear Personal Dosimeters while in the laboratory. 

Non-Mercer Students or Volunteers

  1. Non-Mercer students or volunteers working in labs at the School of Medicine are required to submit "Laboratory Access Form".
     
  2. Persons under age 18 are not allowed to perform activities in the School of Medicine laboratories without prior approval. 
     
  3. This policy applies to anyone under 18, non-Mercer students/volunteers, and faculty/staff children.
