Dr. Strozier elected President of the Academy of Family Psychology |
04/09/2007 - The Academy of Family Psychology (AFP) announced recently that Dr. Melton Strozier was named President-Elect of the Academy following an election by the membership. Dr. Strozier is Chair and Professor of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of Mercer University School of Medicine. The Academy of Family Psychology is a distinguished professional organization consisting of psychologists who are Diplomates of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in Family Psychology and who have been inducted into AFP as Fellows in Family Psychology.
AFP works together with ABPP, the Commission for the Recognition of Specialties and Proficiencies in Professional Psychology (CRSPPP) and the American Psychological Association (APA) Division of Family Psychology in order to promote excellence in family psychology practice, training, and research.
Dr. Strozier will serve AFP as President-Elect, President, and Past President for six years. Dr. Strozier is a graduate of Mercer University (CLA, Psychology, ’74) and has been with the Mercer School of Medicine for ten years.
