The Department of Biomedical Sciences – Savannah campus is organized with an innovative approach to interdisciplinary teaching and research. Faculty in the Department represent the basic medical sciences disciplines of Anatomy/Embryology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Histology, Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, Pathology, Pharmacology, and Physiology. Departmental faculty members are involved as tutors and discipline resource faculty in Years 1 and 2 of the MD program. In addition to assuming major responsibilities in the educational program, our faculty are also actively engaged in research and service activities. The research programs provide excellent opportunities for student (both undergraduate and graduate) and post-doctoral fellow training.
