Continuing Medical Education

Introduction

Continuing Medical Education (CME) is provided by Mercer University School of Medicine's clinical affiliates, Navicent Health in Macon, and Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.

The Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) coordinates all continuing medical education activities including regularly scheduled series, courses, performance improvement projects and symposia. Opportunities for high quality educational experiences are available throughout the year at Navicent Health, Mercer University School of Medicine, and other off-campus locations. Regularly scheduled series and other on-going activities are typically free of charge. Larger conferences and symposia are offered with modest registration fees; however, fees are always waived for residents. The Office of Continuing Medical Education maintains computerized transcripts of Mercer University School of Medicine sponsored CME activities for all physicians. Transcripts are available on request at no charge.

Memorial University Medical Center, Savannah, GAThe Hoskins Center is a 60,000 square foot facility dedicated to cancer research and academic medicine. It includes a laboratory research program, a diagnostic molecular genetics program, and classroom space for six physician residency training programs.

The Department of Continuing Medical Education (CME) at Memorial University Medical Center is committed to developing, implementing, and evaluating continuing medical education activities.  A variety of high quality educational opportunities are available throughout the year to meet the needs of all healthcare team members at local, regional, national and international levels.  These activities include, but are not limited to:  specialty specific seminars, department-specific regularly scheduled conferences, Grand Rounds, internet-based enduring materials, and quality and performance improvement projects.  CME educational opportunities are offered at Memorial University Health Center, Mercer University School of Medicine, and other off campus locations.  Larger conferences and symposia are offered with modest registration fees; however, fees are always waived for residents and medical students.
