AccessMedicine
AccessMedicine includes approximately 53 full-text textbooks in clinical and educational medicine. Also available from AccessMedicine: drug information, practice guidelines, quick access to diagnosis and treatment of 800 disorders, diagnostic tests, customizable patient education materials, and health news channels. Image, video, and audio content are available as well. USMLEasy Lite is also available with a personal profile. Registration for a "My AccessMedicine" account is free. Books@OVID
Access full-text textbooks via the OVID platform. OVID books include page numbers that coincide with the print editions. OVID also allows for easy navigation of the books sections and chapters and keyword searching within multiple books. ACCESS: On campus or off campus with username/password.
Cochrane Library
The Cochrane Library is the number once source for systematic reviews. It contains high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making. It includes reliable evidence from Cochrane and other systematic reviews, clinical trials, and more. Cochrane reviews bring you the combined results of the world’s best medical research studies, and are recognised as the gold standard in evidence-based healthcare. DynaMed DynaMed is a clinical reference tool created by physicians for physicians and other health care professionals for use primarily at the 'point-of-care'. With clinically-organized summaries for nearly 2,000 topics, DynaMed is an evidence-based reference shown to answer most clinical questions during practice. DynaMed is updated daily and monitors the content of over 500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases directly and indirectly by using many journal review services. A PDA version is also available for Palm, Pocket PC, Windows Smartphone, BlackBerry, and iPhone- instructions found here. Please note that DynaMed is similar to the popular program UptoDate, but is updated daily and is more affordable for library and group subscriptions. Exam Master
EXAM MASTER has developed a 350-question USMLE Step 1 practice exam for use by 2nd year medical students. They have also created a set of clerkship exams covering five primary care specialties. GaIN
GaIN, the Georgia Interactive Network for Medical Information, is a non-profit, university-based electronic health care information network. GaIN offers a variety of electronic resources, including full-text journals and textbooks, specialty databases, as well as literature alerts and document delivery services. Includes AccessMedicine, MD Consult, Stat!Ref, Nursing & Allied Health Collection, PIER, imagesMD. Classes on GaIN are available from the library. GALILEO, Georgia Library Learning Online, an initiative of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. images.MD
images.MD contains over 50,000 images including photographs, radiographs, tables, charts, and more. Save images to a slide collection and create PowerPoint presentations in one easy step (requires free registration). Images are licensed for personal use (teaching, research, etc). ISI Web of Knowledge
Includes Web of Science, Current Contents Connect, and ISI HighlyCited.com.
Web of Knowledge provides high-quality content and the tools to access, analyze, and manage research information in the sciences, social sciences, and arts and humanities. Use Web of Science to perform cited reference searches, to find where an article or author has been cited; find articles that an article has cited; and identify more recent articles on the same topic. Access to Current Contents Connect allows you to browse a journal's table of contents for current and past issues; search the databases for published works by topic, author, address, journal, and more; and use the alerting option to have weekly updated results automatically e-mailed to you. You also have the capability of cross searching both of these databases. ISI HighlyCited.com gives you author biographies and bibliographies.
MDConsult
Made possible by GaIN. Has searchable ebooks, ejournals, patient education handouts, medical news, drug information, images, and clinical guidelines. MUSM Publications Database
Scientific books, journal articles, published abstracts, government documents, editorials, letters, and in press items by faculty members, students, residents, and staff from the period of January 1997 to the present are currently included, and this list will be updated regularly by the Mercer Medical Library. Publications are arranged alphabetically by first author, whether Mercer faculty or not. The database may be searched by author, descriptor (includes departmental affiliation), or publication title. National Guideline Clearinghouse
The National Guideline Clearinghouse™ (NGC) is a comprehensive database of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and related documents produced by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) (formerly the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research [AHCPR]), in partnership with the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Association of Health Plans (AAHP). Nutrition in Medicine
Nutrition in Medicine® provides nutrition education for students and healthcare professionals. The Patient Education and Consumer Health Information [PEACHI] Website was first created in 1998 and is maintained by Roxanne M. The site consists of links to Web resources that contain reliable patient education and/or consumer health materials, which have been evaluated for accuracy, currency, and quality of information. Made possible by GaIN, The Physicians' Information and Education Resource (PIER) is produced by the American College of Physicians. A point-of-care tool, PIER offers authoritative, evidence-based guidance to improve clinical care. Comparable with UptoDate, PIER is evidence-based. PsycINFO
PsycINFO, American Psychological Association's (APA) resource for abstracts of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, is the largest resource devoted to peer-reviewed literature in behavioral science and mental health. It contains over 2.5 million citations and summaries, and ninety-eight percent of the covered material is peer-reviewed. The database also includes information about the psychological aspects of related fields such as medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, technology, linguistics, anthropology, business, law, and others. Journal coverage, which spans from 1887 to present, includes international material selected from more than 2,200 periodicals in more than 27 languages. PubMed, a service of the National Library of Medicine, provides access to over 12 million MEDLINE journal citations from the mid-1960's to the present. PubMed is NLM's premier bibliographic database, covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the preclinical sciences. Classes on PubMed are available from the library. ACCESS: No restrictions. Users going though this link both on and off-campus will see MUSM Library holdings but will not be able to access ejournal full-text from off-campus.

Using RefWorks, researchers can: create personal reference databases by importing references from online databases or entering data; use these references in writing their papers; and automatically format the paper and the bibliography. RHIC, the Rural Health Information Clearinghouse, is an information reference service for the state of Georgia. The purpose of RHIC is to provide information to health care planners and providers as well as others interested in Georgia rural health care delivery system issues. STAT!Ref

Full coverage of USMLEasy is provided. Users can take exams in Practice Mode, Exam Mode, or USMLEasy Simulation Mode; customize their exams by selecting questions by discipline, organ system, or setting. You can also learn from personalized Lange reading lists based on your weakest topics. Get access to the detailed Performance Profile to track your exam results over time and compare scores against others, including those at your institution. VisualDX
VisualDx is a diagnostic decision support system designed by clinicians to aid medical professionals in the diagnosis of visually identifiable diseases. It provides instant access to specialist knowledge at the point of care, merging medical images with concise clinical text. As the clinician enters actual patient findings, VisualDx creates a visual differential diagnosis. The software includes more than 16,000 images representing over 900 visually identifiable diseases, drug reactions, and infections. WebPath
The WebPath® computer-aided instructional resource contains over 5000 images with text that show gross and microscopic pathologic findings along with radiologic imaging associated with human disease conditions. For self-assessment and study there are over 3600 examination items, 50 laboratory sessions, and 45 tutorials in specific subject areas. ACCESS: This resource can only be viewed from a MUSM computer.
