Major changes are happening to NIH grant applications for due dates on or after January 25, 2010. These extensive changes in format and page numbers are described in the links below:
The first link is an overview and the second link is a pdf file that describes the changes in the Research Plan (now Introduction, Specific Aims, Research Strategy) and Resources (now Environment) in detail. The links below contain a template for fulfilling the new Scientific Environment requirement plus a list of major scientific equipment at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon and Savannah as downloadable Word files.

Early Stage Investigators and New Investigators
The NIH policy is addressed by a new requirement for Early Stage Investigators in the Environment section of the restructured NIH grant applications. The NIH website contains a template that Early Stage Investigators can use to satisfy this new requirement.
