Research characterizes the modulation of dopamine transporter function by dopamine autoreceptor mediated mechanisms. Specifically interested in how developmental time periods and steroid exposure (estrogens and progestins) influence dopaminergic activity. These studies focus on understanding the effect of early alterations in neuronal activity on adult brain function.
