How long will it take for my new username and password to take affect?
Your email account, GaIN website access will be immediate. 

How can I access my new email account?

You can retrieve your mail using Mercer's Webmail system using your new ID and password. You can also retrieve your mail through any email client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape Communicator, Eudora, etc.).

I have a personal account (e.g. - Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.).  Can you forward my med.mercer.edu account to my personal account?
Your new email address will not be forwarded to another account; you must access your med.mercer.edu account directly.

What information do I need to configure my email software?
Email may be accessed via POP or IMAP methods. You will need the following information to configure your software (this does not apply to Webmail users):

Host name: med.mercer.edu

User name: Your user name (this is the first part of your email address, in the form of _@med.mercer.edu. For example, "John A. Smith's" email address would be smith_ja@med.mercer.edu.

Password: The password you selected when you activated your new account.
