Research is primarily focusing on inflammatory mechanisms of ischemia/reperfusion-inducedmyocardial injury, cardioprotection with mechanical (preconditioning and postconditioning) and pharmacological interventions, and tissue repair viamodulation of extracellular matrix and endogenous stem cells after myocardial infarction.
