Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah is located in the William and Iffath Hoskins Center located on the campus of Memorial University Medical Center.This 91,000 sq. ft. building currently has 15,850 sq. ft. devoted to basic science research.The Hoskins Center houses a federal repository for cancer specimens as well as the instrumentation/laboratory space necessary to carry out experiments in the areas of molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and whole animal studies.The basic science faculty within the Department of Biomedical Science pursues research within the fields of cancer (in collaboration with the Anderson Cancer Institute), cardiovascular disease, hematology, and infectious disease.
