Simulation Labs

Mercer School of Medicine’s simulation labs provide medical students with state-of-the-art equipment and expert guidance in experiential training. Here, students are able to practice procedures such as intravenous catheter placement, lumbar puncture, and managing medical emergencies like respiratory distress or cardiac arrest in a team-based setting. Equipped with high-fidelity simulators and advanced audiovisual systems, faculty can modify scenarios in real time and review encounters with teams during post-session debriefings. The patient simulators are designed to respond physiologically to treatment, closely mimicking real-world clinical outcomes.

Risk-free hands-on training

MUSM's simulation labs support experiential learning for students, residents, faculty and clinical affiliates. Available on all campuses, the labs allow learners to practice fundamental clinical skills in a controlled environment that replicates patient care—without putting actual patients at risk.
