Simulation Labs

Our Program
The Mercer University Simulation Program supports experiential learning methodologies within medical education provided to the students, residents, faculty and affiliates of Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM). The Program consists of simulation centers on each of the four medical school campuses.

Our Curriculum
• Computerized manikins
• Role-playing
• Procedural task trainers
• Debriefing
• Tabletop exercises
• Complex Case Scenarios

Learning Objectives
Using learning objectives as a guide, participants and course instructors implement methods to improve patient assessment, communication, critical thinking, psychomotor and cognitive skills within a safe environment. Replicating the essential aspects of a clinical situation allows a participant to more readily understand and apply these skills when in a clinical setting. Using an appropriate blend of low- and high-fidelity simulations, the Center mimics what the participants may encounter in the clinical setting.
