The Primary Mission of the Master of Family Therapy (MFT) Program at Mercer University School of1.jpg Medicine (MUSM) is to train competent family therapists to work as mental health professionals, both in the medical context and in mental health systems. The MFT Program seeks to provide professional education and clinical training which will enable students to treat individuals, couples, families and children from a family systems/relational perspective.

 

A Secondary Mission of the MFT Program is to provide family systems/relational assessment and training for MUSM medical students and residents to facilitate MUSM’s goals of enlarging the physician’s appreciation for the context of medical illness and disability and enhancing the doctor/patient relationship.
