Application Deadlines

2023-24 Application Cycle Timeline

Applicants are required to submit their application through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS), AAMC’s centralized medical school application processing service. Applications for admission and instructions for the application process are available on the AAMC website.

AMCAS Important Dates

  • May 2, 2023: AMCAS Application opens
  • May 30, 2023: Primary Application Submission begins
  • June 30, 2023: Data Transmission to medical schools

Since completed applications are considered by the Admissions Committee on a rolling basis and the number of interview spots is limited, we encourage all applicants to complete their applications as early in the cycle as possible. Once applications are complete, applicants will receive an email acknowledgment from the Admissions Office that their file is complete and eligible for review by the Admissions Committee. See below for timelines specific to each type of application.

Early Decision

  • July 13, 2023: Last day to take the AAMC PREview Exam
  • July 31, 2023: Primary AMCAS Application and transcripts must be submitted to AMCAS
  • August 30, 2023: MUSM Admissions Office must receive applicant’s GPA and official MCAT score(s) by 5 p.m. EST for a Secondary Application Invitation for the Early Decision Program
  • September 4, 2023: All Secondary Application components must be submitted by 5 p.m. EST. This includes AAMC PREview Exam scores.
  • August 17, 2022: Interviews begin
  • September 15, 2023: Last day to be notified of an interview invitation
  • September 21, 2023: Interviews end
  • September 29, 2023: Early Decision Applicant Notification

Early Assurance

  • August 14, 2023: Primary AMCAS Application and transcripts must be submitted to AMCAS
  • September 29, 2023: All secondary application components must be submitted by 5 p.m. EST
  • October 6, 2023: Last day to be notified of an interview invitation
  • October 12, 2023: Interview day
  • November 17, 2023: Early Assurance Applicant Notification

Regular Pool

  • September 26, 2023: Interviews begin
  • October 31, 2023: Last day to take AAMC PREview Exam
  • November 1, 2023: Primary Applications must be submitted to AMCAS
  • November 13, 2023: Transcripts must be submitted to AMCAS
  • January 12, 2024: All Secondary Application components must be submitted by 5 p.m. EST
  • January 29, 2024: Last day to be notified of an interview invitation
  • February 1, 2024: Interviews end
