Application Deadlines

2026-27 Application Cycle Timeline

Applicants are required to submit their application through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS), AAMC’s centralized medical school application processing service. Applications for admission and instructions for the application process are available on the AAMC website.

AMCAS Important Dates

  • May 1, 2026: AMCAS application opens
  • May 31, 2026: Primary application submission begins
  • June 30, 2026: Data transmission to medical schools
  • October 1, 2026: Deferred to regular pool applicant deadline (decision day for ED applicants)

Since completed applications are considered by the Admissions Committee on a rolling basis and interview spots are limited, we encourage applicants to complete their applications as early in the cycle as possible. Once an application is complete, applicants will receive an email acknowledgment from the Admissions Office that their file is complete and eligible for review by the Admissions Committee. See below for timelines specific to each type of application.

Early Decision

  • August 3, 2026: Primary AMCAS application and transcripts must be submitted to AMCAS
  • August 31, 2026: MUSM Admissions Office must receive applicant’s GPA and official MCAT score(s) by 5:00 p.m. EST for a secondary application invitation
  • September 8, 2026: All secondary application components must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. EST.
  • August 18, 2026: Interviews begin
  • September 11, 2026: Last day to be notified of an interview invitation
  • September 22, 2026: Interviews end
  • September 30, 2026: Early decision applicant notification

Early Assurance

  • August 14, 2026: Primary AMCAS application and transcripts must be submitted to AMCAS
  • August 28, 2026: All transcripts must be submitted
  • October 1, 2026: All secondary application components must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. EST
  • October 6, 2026: Last day to be notified of an interview invitation
  • October 8, 2026: Interview day
  • November 23, 2026: Early assurance applicant notification

Regular Pool

  • September 17, 2026: Interviews begin
  • November 2, 2026: Primary applications must be submitted to AMCAS
  • November 16, 2026: Transcripts must be submitted to AMCAS
  • January 12, 2027: All secondary application components must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. EST
  • January 25, 2027: Last day to be notified of an interview invitation
  • February 11, 2027: Interviews end
