Research the MFT Program

Learn about Mercer’s Master of Family Therapy program to decide whether it aligns with your personal and career goals by:

• Reviewing the program and curriculum details.
• Attending a live virtual information session.
• Learning more about tuition, scholarships and other funding sources.

Review the Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree or be on track to complete one at an accredited college or university by July of the intended year of matriculation.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.

Non-degree-seeking applicants must follow the standard admissions process and indicate their intent to apply as a non-degree-seeking student on the application. Please see the FAQ for more information.

Fall 2027 Entry

• December 1, 2026: Application opens
• June 28, 2027: Final application submission date
• July 2, 2027: All required materials must be received

Interview Timeline

Having a complete application by the deadline ensures consideration for each interview window. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The rolling review process may continue until the application cycle ends or a campus reaches capacity. Once a campus reaches capacity, you will no longer be able to select this campus in your application.

• Applicants with a complete application by January 29, 2027 who are selected to interview on February 5, 2027, are guaranteed an admission decision by February 19, 2027.
• Applicants with a complete application after January 29, 2027 will be reviewed during each subsequent interview window until a campus reaches capacity or the application cycle closes, whichever occurs first. See the complete interview timeline below.
