Research Interest

Dr. Carlos’s clinical and research interests incorporate Bowen family systems theory concepts with couples counseling, marital conflict, and parenting. Her doctoral dissertation explored the lived experiences of marriage and family therapists who work with high-conflict couples. She shares a passion for utilizing her knowledge of family systems theory and applying it in the therapy room, the community, and within organizations.
