Research Interest

Dr. Chalk-Wilayto’s research interests center on the relationships among food processing behavior, food properties, and functional anatomy of the feeding system in primates. She has a particular interest in examining these relationships through development. Dr. Chalk-Wilayto’s research program integrates ecological and morphological methods to quantify ontogenetic changes in dietary demands and feeding behavior and relate those changes to dietary adaptations in the masticatory system.
