Student Wellness
The Student Wellness Program is designed to help students not just survive, but thrive throughout their graduate and medical school experience. During first year orientation and Bears Prepare Half Days, five aspects of wellness are addressed: physical, emotional, spiritual, professional, and financial. Mercer University School of Medicine believes that nurturing positive health behaviors not only benefits students while they are in school, but also helps them develop the skills needed to approach future careers with resilience and balance. The following resources are available for all students.
Emergency and Crisis Resources
Anonymous Reporting Line
An anonymous reporting line is available for students to report mistreatment or general concerns and suggestions. Reports are not traceable unless you elect to include identifying information. This is NOT an emergency contact or crisis line. Contact 911, local police, Mercer Police (MERPO) or hospital security for any situation involving immediate danger.
Crisis Support Line: 888-291-5802
A Crisis Support Line is available to help all MUSM students who may be experiencing a physical or mental health crisis. It is available 24 hours/day, 365 days/year.
Mercer Police (MERPO)
MERPO’s professionally trained staff is readily available to serve students 24 hours a day 365 days a year. For assistance, call 478-301-4357 (Macon) and 678-547-6358 (Atlanta).
Needle Stick Injury or Blood Borne Exposure
If you receive an injury, clean it thoroughly and present to the nearest emergency facility. Questions and bills should be addressed to the Office of Student Affairs.
