Bear Essentials

The Mercer School of Medicine Bear Essentials program is a student-led initiative designed to support students who are underrepresented in medicine on their path to a career in medicine. Our goal is to provide the resources, guidance and encouragement needed to help students successfully apply to and thrive in medical school. While our focus is on mentoring underrepresented students, all students are invited to participate.

Throughout the year, we host a variety of events for high school and undergraduate students, offering key insights and hands-on experiences to help them take the next step toward a career in medicine.
