Simulation Center

Clinical skills
The Clinical Skills wing in Macon features 16 exam rooms where students interact with standardized patients under faculty guidance. This space prepares students for clinical rotations by developing their abilities to take medical histories, perform physical exams, and document patient encounters. Medical Library
The Skelton Medical Library branch in Macon is open 24/7 with Mercer ID card access. Students have full access to thousands of medical texts, journals, and online resources. Learning spaces
Students in Macon learn in small group tutorial rooms, large lecture halls, and distance learning classrooms that link all three campuses. The recently renovated auditorium accommodates both in-person and remote learning, supporting lectures, workshops, and special events.
Administrative and faculty offices
Just steps from the main lobby, Macon’s administrative suite includes the offices of admissions, academic affairs, the registrar, and financial aid. Students can easily meet with staff for guidance throughout their journey.

Centers for Rural Health
The Macon campus is home to two centers focused on improving health care in rural Georgia. The Center for Rural Health and Health Disparities leads community-based research and programs to address issues like maternal mortality, opioid misuse, and chronic disease. The Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center partners with communities and health systems to develop sustainable solutions for rural health challenges across all 120 of Georgia’s rural counties.
