Research Interest

Dr. Shaw’s research has focused on primary care practice transformation. This research has provided insights into how organizational characteristics such as teamwork, communication, trust, and leadership shape ongoing quality improvement efforts and transformation into patient centered medical homes. Another area of interest Dr.Shaw’s is cancer screening and cancer survivorship in the primary care context. This work has taken both organizational-level and patient-level approaches which has yielded important insights for enhancing health service delivery.
