Research Interest

Dr. Benesh’s research focuses on families involved in the child welfare system. His work includes projects using secondary data sets to develop algorithms to identify youth in need of additional services, the development and evaluation of foster parent training programs, and exploring how relational factors can influence youth outcomes. Dr. Benesh’s other research interests include; the effects of psychosocial neglect on developmental outcomes, program evaluation, non-traditional and community-based interventions for children and adolescents, and interventions to promote resiliency in high-need and at-risk youth.
