Research Interest

Dr. Uchakin’s lab studies the regulatory role of the immune system in the development of stress response as part of the Psycho-Neuro-Endo-Immune network. His work uses transcriptomic and proteomic studies of the multidirectional communication between the central nervous, endocrine and immune systems and how it supports homeostasis. Dr. Uchakin’s main focus is the cytokine equilibrium in the development of the immune stress response to chronic cognitive and non-cognitive stimuli and its role in the pathogenesis of different stress-associated diseases. Immune response is studied in human, animal and in vitro models.
